1. What we collect
Volt connects to your Tesla account through Tesla's official OAuth flow. We never see your password. We collect only the telemetry and metadata your Tesla emits via Fleet Telemetry plus the minimum account information needed to deliver the service — email address, app preferences, and subscription state.
We do not collect contacts, photos, location history outside of your driving sessions, or anything from other apps on your phone.
2. How your data is stored
Vehicle telemetry is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use Postgres on managed European infrastructure. Backups are encrypted and retained per the schedule disclosed in our DPA.
3. What we never do
We never sell your data. We never share your driving history with insurers, advertisers, or any third party. We never fingerprint your device beyond what is required for authentication.
4. Sharing with subprocessors
We use a small set of vendors to run the service — listed by category:
- Hosting + edge: Vercel
- Database: managed Postgres provider
- Email delivery: Resend
- Crash diagnostics: Sentry (optional, opt-out in settings)
We may add subprocessors as we grow; we will update this page before any change takes effect.
5. Your rights
You can request a full export of your data, or delete it entirely, from the app's Account Settings. Deletion is irreversible and removes your data from our active databases within 30 days; encrypted backups age out per our retention policy.
EU and UK residents have rights under GDPR; Turkish residents under KVKK; California residents under CCPA. To exercise any of these, email privacy@haveyoumetvolt.com.
6. Contact
For privacy-specific questions, email privacy@haveyoumetvolt.com. For everything else: hello@haveyoumetvolt.com.
